Challenge

Schlafly, a thriving local brewery in St. Louis, MO faced a logistical challenge with their storage system. In storing pallets of bottles in their warehouse, Schlafly needed to stack these to the ceiling in order to maximize their floor space.

While this allowed for them to use their vertical space to store goods, they had concerns about warehouse safety and the integrity of their products as these pallets were stacked high. In the event that these bottles would fall, they could risk an injury or unwanted expense in their operations.

Solution

Schlafly sought the expertise from Industrial Shelving Systems. We were tasked with finding a way to safely store bottles in the warehouse and create a clear walkway for people to use.

Recognizing the need for a secure solution , we collaborated with WireCrafters to implement a comprehensive system that protected the inventory and also created a safe work environment for Schlafly’s employees.

Industrial Shelving Systems conducted a thorough site survey at Schlafly’s brewery, taking precise measurements of the stacked pallets and assessing the warehouse storage space for potential hazards.

With the WireCrafters team, they proposed a WireCrafters Security Partition to protect the pallets. This was installed around the pallet to prevent any falling from accidental movement when extracting pallets or movement if a forklift were to accidentally hit it during the loading and unloading process.

For the pedestrian walkway, a heavy duty Safety Guardrail was established so that warehouse workers would have a clear aisle to walk in. The bright yellow guardrail made the boundaries extra clear in the warehouse.

Results

By using AutoCAD drawings and layouts, Industrial Shelving Systems was able to leverage their expertise to provide Schlafly with a storage solution for their warehouse space. The pictures helped Schlafly understand the solution to see how it would work in their brewery. This played a huge part in making the project successful.

The WireCrafters products, known for their ease of installation, ensured that the protective measures were put in place efficiently. The ISS team worked in coordination with Schlafly's operational schedule, minimizing disruption during the installation phase.
